Sad indeed!

The eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved, and we will not say except what pleases our Lord.

The news is very sad indeed. 13 children from the nursery, 2 fire fighters and 4 teachers, victims of this incident in Doha.

I can imagine the plights of the parents, Subhanallaah, may Allaah give them the courage to accept His decree and grant them patience. Aameen!

This is a Mall (Villagio) that Maimoonah enjoys playing the indoor games and often visits. She was so shocked and sad when she heard the news just like all of us, Allaahu Musta'aan.

She was  in tears when she heard about the little kids and the two fire fighters. I explained to her this is the Qadr of Allaah and we shed tears and hearts grieve but we only say what pleases Allaah. Then she asked me "So Ummi are you happy?". I said no I am not happy but I am contend with the decree of Allaah as He knows what we do not know. And said that all of those kids will be in the gardens of Jannah with Ibraheem alaihissalaam and the fire fighters have died upon good as they were saving the lives of the kids Inshaa Allaah, so we ask Allaah to forgive them and grant them Jannah. She calmed down and settled Alhamdulillaah.

She was very happy indeed when she knew her Abi was attending the Janazah of the two firefighters and she made dua for them too. Alhamdulillaah every situation is indeed a lesson to ourselves and a lesson to teach our kids to understand the dheen of Allaah!

There are many many speculations and blames going around here, but we trust that Allaah has decreed a matter and it has come to pass and this is an eye-opener for the negligence and a reminder for the authorities to be vigilant Inshaa Allaah!

Indeed from Allaah we come and to Him is our Final Return!

So this week I took out the Word Flow Cards some of which I have not used for flashing before and said that we would play a game. Asked her to choose a card and if she read well she would get a star and if I read I would get a star and at the end whoever gets more stars would be the winner. She liked the idea. I purposely made her read most of the cards and she won and was very proud. Alhamdulillaah she could read the words below. We used the white board and practice verbs and writing. She is not having enough confident yet to write joined words. But I am just trying things out! May be I should start words tracing sheets with her and see how it goes, as she is confused with the joining formations of the letters.

Sewing Saturdays - Felt Book Mark!

Maimoonah has been begging that she needs to sew again. life had been so hectic that Sewing Saturdays was almost forgotten. Today she insisted that she needs to sew and I too wanted to get back to our normal activities and make things interesting for her.

So she made a Felt Book Mark today. Maashaa Allaah she is able to concentrate more and stitch well now. Her motor skills have improved and she needed very little help to do this.

She used the stencil and drew a lemon on the felt. I cut two pieces.

We pinned the pieces of felt with a long ribbon underneath them.

Then she stitched around the felt pieces.

She wanted to stitch a button on the middle.

Followed the same steps for the felt pieces at the end of the ribbon.

And here is the final product. She was very proud of her work! And uses it for the books she reads every day! A very simple and easy project. Originally the idea was taken from here

Kindergarten Curriculum Summary - Week 24

Islaamic Studies
  • Seerah - Al Isra wal Miraaj - We learnt the hadeeth on this and the description of the Night Journey and Mi'raaj. We also learnt about the reaction of the Quraish for this and the verification of the truthfulness of Aboo Bakr As Siddeeq radhiyallaahu anhu. We used these templates from here and recorded the information on the topic. Jazzakillaah Khayr sis Umm Sayang for your sharing, it really made it easy for me at this time.

  • Fiqh - Cleanliness. She read the Darul Kitab Book "Keeping Ourselves Clean" and discussed about it. It was a good thing that she is able to read and understand now and she was asking me many questions as to what this means. Especially about the hadeeth where the person is punished for not taking care of the Najis of Urine.

English
  • Grammar - We studies about Objects and Animal Sounds.

  • Writing - She wrote a letter to her Grandma with writing the date, addresses and the body of the letter, she also typed this letter on MS Word and waiting send it as an email soon Inshaa Allaah.

  • Reading - Maimoonah has started reading Chapter Books now. My cousin gave her a whole heap of Noddy chapter books and she has been very busy reading then all day and night quietly on her own. I chose this book "Noddy Goes to School" and we both took turns and read aloud. I did this to understand if she could read all the words in the book and also to explain to her certain concepts. She did not know what is "Swollen head" is all about. So needed to explain. She enjoys these books as usual. But a word of caution some Noddy books have Magic and Kufr concepts and beware Inshaa Allaah.

  • We are still continuing with Verbs and I am trying to make her write. She finds it very difficult to join and write Inshaa Allaah with practice it will come. After studying the verbs, I wrote some verbs in Arabic and gave her the Verbs sheet and asked her to read and find out which one is the correct answer and told her to copy write. It took her some time to look and write but she did well. This was a good reading and writing practice.
